Q. Are Wedding Nanny carers qualified?

A. Yes. All our carers have as a minimum standard:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Supply two contactable references.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years babysitting experience.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • Hold a current Level 2 first aid qualification (HLTFA311A, HLTFA301C, HLTAID003, HTLAID004).
  • Hold a current CPR qualification and update yearly (HLTCPR201B, HLTCPR211A HTLAID001).
  • Carers are encouraged to:
    • Obtain a yearly Federal Police Check.
    • Obtain their own personal public liability insurance.

Q. Can I book a casual babysitter or do you only do weddings and events?

A. Yes we cater for casual babysitting, weddings & events, as well as permanent placements (part-time | full-time), school drop-off | pick-up etc.

Q. Is the Booking Fee a deposit?

A. No. The booking fee is required for administrative duties surrounding your booking, including contact emails, texts and phone calls. Booking fees are charged per day and vary due to the type of booking that is made by you. Booking fees exclude the babysitter or nannys hourly rate.

Q. Why are some of your rates a little higher than other providers?

A. Wedding Nanny has chosen to adhere to the Award Rate (Miscellaneous Award) for nannies and babysitters. We believe all workers are entitled to receive a fair wage.

Q. Why do I need to book two nannies if there are four children in the booking when the ratio is 1:4?

A. The children are our top priority. Wedding Nanny ensures the safety of children in their care, and if there are more than four children, the nanny will be unable to provide the standard of care that each child requires. The legal ratio is one nanny to four children. In saying this, it will also be dependant on children’s ages. If there are four children under five for example, or if there is an infant who needs more one on one care, then it may be advisable to have two nannies. The ages of children will be assessed to ensure safety and quality of care.

Q. Can I get a quote for your services?

A. Quotes are not the best option in case you get held up having too much fun. We are happy to provide an estimate of costs which allows flexibility for you and you’re booking.

Q. How do I pay for your service?

A. There are a few options for payment. 1. Pay via credit card on the night (2.2% CC surcharge). 2. Pay via cash on the night. 3. Pre-pay via direct bank deposit (an invoice would be emailed from Wedding Nanny. The bank details can be found on the bottom left-hand side of the invoice). 4. Pre-pay via credit card (2.2% CC surcharge).

Q. Do you supply port-a-cots?

A. Yes we do! Currently the nursery equipment we have for hire are port-a-cots and bassinets.

Q. Do you provide baby seats?

A. Not at this time, however we are in the process of implementing approved safety car seats for hire.

Q. What happens once I submit the booking form online?

A. You will be receive an email confirmation that your booking has been received. A booking fee will be debited via your saved credit card on file, and now your date is secured. We will be in contact the week prior to your booking with the nanny bio and contact details. On the day of the booking you will receive a text just to let you know your nanny will be seeing you at your booked-in time.

Q. Will I bring toys or activities along for my child?

A. No it is not needed unless your child has a special toy that they never part with and would be upset without it. The nannies can set up games, art and craft, book reading, and possibly a quiet corner if tired kids require a movie to chill out with.
